It’s been a hell of a week for me but honestly it has unlocked a new level of work capacity. I had fun creating the story and this was a chance for me to decide whether I am going into the right career field, because the way the project is set up it’s intense and focused.
You are doing multiple things at once and they are all new things that you are learning. So you move through a learning curve within a day so that really builds character. This program has a lot of support, a lot of education and learning experience that is very valuable. Also you have a great team of people who are really experienced in their field and are able to answer all your possible questions in regards to journalism.
This is a good chance to explore your love of writing and creating content for the world. If you want to know what it’s like to be a journalist, which was me, this is the space to find out.
For future mentees this will help you see which parts of journalism you’re strongest at and other parts you could improve in. Since this is a multimedia project, you experience a little taste of everything when working on this project, which I greatly appreciate because now I know where I can improve.
I’m growing and becoming a real life journalist through this beautiful and intensive project. You experience months worth of journalism growth within a week, which is crazy, if you think about it. If you are looking for a good challenge and growth in the journalism field this program is for you.
